Story
Thursday 7th May would have, and should have been, the 7th birthday of my niece, Ellie Grace Beaumont. I am fairly new to running but have decided to run 7 miles for her on her 7th birthday. When we lost Ellie to meningitis at 16 days old, Meningitis Now were a fantastic support to Ellie’s Mummy and Daddy, and we have done many fundraising events for the charity to help fund their research and the support they provide to affected families. Charities are really struggling at the moment because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so I thought I’d turn my challenge into a fundraiser for Meningitis Now.Updates
Overwhelmed!
18th May 2020Well, I did my run, 7.7 miles for Ellie who would have been 7 on 7th May. I am overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity for supporting my challenge and donating to Meningitis Now, and I can’t thank you enough. To date we have raised almost £24000 in memory of Ellie for this amazing charity, who work tirelessly to support affected families, raise awareness of this disease and fund research.
