Malaga half marathon for Ellie Grace

Story

On the 6th of April 2014 I will be facing the challenge of my first half marathon. Whilst I have run a few 10k events before I have never attempted this distance. There is not long to go but my training inspiration is running in aid of little Ellie Grace Beaumont who was tragically taken from her parents far too young. I never met Ellie but her family and friends have been so brave raising money to support Meningitis charities, so hopefully they can prevent this kind of tragedy happening to others. So here's to you Ellie, the little angel I never got the pleasure of meeting. Gone but definitely not forgotten xxx

Updates

A week to go

30th March 2014

Not long to go now

16th March 2014
It's getting close and I might not have clocked up the miles I wanted to but I'm still going to give it my all. Roll on the next 3 weeks.....watch out miles I'm coming to get you

Tomorrow is the start of a new week

23rd February 2014
Not sure where the last few weeks have gone. Only managed a couple of short training runs and my usual games of hockey. Must try harder as its not long now. The aim this week is to get out a couple of times at lunch and do a couple of longer runs at the weekend. Hopefully the nights will start getting a bit lighter so it will give me a few more options. Let the training recommence !

Week 2 and still going strong, despite the weather

26th January 2014
Managed to clock up 17 miles this week plus a hockey match. Not bad considering the weather and really pleased I knocked virtually 10 mins off my 10 mile PB today....don't worry still plenty more in the tank for Ellie x Flights booked just need to sort accommodation now and start the fundraising drive at work. Already up to £100 and really touched by people's generosity 10 weeks today and counting...let the serious training commence x

Week 1 and feeling the burn

19th January 2014
So first week in and managed to clock up 20 miles of road running and a hockey match for interval training. Focussing on building up my distance rather than speed so not bad at all. Just shows you what a bit of positivity and a worthwhile cause can do to motivate you through the lovely British weather. New week starts tomorrow ..... Bring it on xxx
